Season's Greetings

Season's Greetings to all!

As we near the close of another year, Health First Network, Inc., would like to thank you for being a part of our Network and for your support of our mission to move healthcare forward by advocating and providing high value health care delivered by quality providers with effective and integrated delivery of management services.

Thank you and Best Wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and Prosperous New Year!

Health First Network, Inc. (HFNI), regarding its stages of URAC Accreditation, has successfully uploaded all documents to meet Core, Network, and Credentialing standards into URAC’s Accreditnet program for Desk Top Review. This means all our documents are being reviewed by surveyors on all 80 standards we have addressed.

Currently HFNI is in a stage of Request For Information (RFI) for further documentation and/or clarification prior to their onsite review. The onsite review will take place January 13th and 14th. This is very exciting now that we are getting closer to the final stage. We appreciate all the efforts in making this a reality.

To date, our Quality Improvement Programs (QIPS) are being very successful in falls and depression areas of patient safety.

We will continue to keep you informed as we move closer to our Network goals of full URAC Accreditation. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

BECKER’S HOSPITAL REVIEW™ ARTICLE: Physicians to face steep Medicaid cuts starting Jan. 1st

Without an act of Congress, the increased Medicaid fees for primary care physicians caring for low-income patients as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will expire on December 31, 2014.

Should the federally funded fee bump expire, Medicaid primary care fees would be reduced by roughly 42.8 percent across the country.

Thank you to all who participated in the 2014 provider survey. The survey responses help us to assure that the high standards we set for assisting our providers are maintained. In addition, Healthplan standards require an annual Provider Satisfaction Survey to evaluate services.

We received many comments about how HFNI can improve its services and we are working to implement these improvements. Survey results can be viewed by following the link below.

As previously announced, we have a strategic relationship with Gilmore Services, which is offering all of our members a 25% discount on their services. They offer Document Shredding, Secure Document Storage, Retention Management, Records Compliance, Document Imaging and Commercial Moving. Gilmore has a lot of experience helping healthcare practitioners streamline their information management systems and keeping PHI documents secure and compliant.

Because strict guidelines associated with healthcare laws, like HIPAA, carry high penalties for violations and noncompliance, document management systems must balance between being secure and accessible. Gilmore Services helps protect, retain, scan or shred your sensitive information, keeping physicians in compliance.
