WELLCARE DIABETIC SUPPLIES AND METERS – PREFERRED BRANDS FOR 2012

WellCare Health Plans Specialty Pharmacy has asked Health First Network to remind HFNI Providers that the following Diabetic Test Meters (Glucometers) are the preferred brands in 2012: the Roche (AccuChek) and Abbott (Freestyle and Precision).

Blood Glucose Meters are provided free to WellCare Members through the WellCare Specialty Pharmacy Mail Order. For additional cost savings for your WellCare members with Diabetes, Diabetic Test Strips can be ordered from the WellCare Specialty Pharmacy at a low cost. Use the attached form when ordering these for your WellCare member. Diabetic Test Strips are one of the costliest drivers for pharmacy expense attributed to Health First Network Primary Care Physicians, and the use of the WellCare Specialty Pharmacy Mail Order for these supplies could help lower this expense.
