Health First Network sponsors luncheon for FSU Pensacola Pediatric Residents

October 2, 2007

Health First Network sponsored a "Lunch and Learn" Luncheon for the Pediatric Residents in the Florida State University/ Pensacola Pediatric Residency Program at Sacred Heart Hospital. The topic for the noon conference was "Safe Sleeping for Babies, Infant Asphyxia and SIDS Risk Factors". This October luncheon is part of a monthly educational series for the Pediatric Residents to provide "lunch while learning" in a relaxed setting. The program was held in the Nemours Tower's 6th Floor conference room and was presented by Deborah Trocki, Executive Director of the Healthy Start Coalition of Escambia County. Twenty-four Pediatric Residents and their coordinator attended the conference. Based on the questions asked, there was a high level of interest in the topic. These Pediatric residents see patients every day in the PEDS Clinic and newborn nursery at Sacred Heart Hospital and educate parents on safe sleeping techniques for infants. They verbalized that the information was helpful to them.
